How does Play Therapy Work?
Play is the natural language of children. In a play therapy session, children play out their inner worlds, feelings and struggles. A trained play therapist can support the expression of feelings, the integration of struggles and traumas, and mastery of new developmentally appropriate skills. In the Synergetic Play Therapy® model, we use a variety of techniques including modelling and reflective statements to support nervous system regulation, awareness of self, sensory regulation and integration.
